The Lighthouse Tour

On arrival at the Lighthouse you can organize a time to have a guided tour of the lighthouse.

The tour is conducted by one of the Park Rangers, and consists of a tour of both the old Radio Room, and a trip to the top of the Lighthouse itself.

The radio room contains a lot of memorabilia and photographs dating back to the world wars. The Lighthouse was an important strategic point during the war, and was manned by military personnel who's legacy still remains on the lighthouse station today. There is also examples of the old equipment used in the maintenance of the lighthouse made obsolete by the gradual upgrading of the lighthouse to its automated present.

By far the highlight of the tour is the trip up to the top of the lighthouse. The view from the top of the lighthouse is spectacular. This part of the tour is quite weather dependent as wind and rain can make the trip onto the Lighthouse balcony quite hazardous.
